Now users and members can rate a review or article on a scale from 1-5 that displays a common “filled-star” theme. This was a module addition for ExpressionEngine.
This extension keeps Submit button within reach as you scroll down the Publish page.
Now you can see views and comment counts in the sidebar when viewing navigation to the latest content
When the user gets to the final “Permalink” template for any entry posted in a weblog, the user can now “Recommend” that entry, add a comment, and have a link to the article post directly to the user’s Facebook news stream.
The user’s profile pictures will show underneath the recommend button.
Added the automated NGEN image uploader for the NEWS weblog. Yes, it’s still a weblog as Max Ink uses Expression Engine 1.69. This will allow many authors to upload stories with accompanying image to the site, speeding the process of the news posting flow.
Monthly Columns “Letter” and “Death Notices” were not showing in the dynamic nav in the sidebar because the “dynamic=off” parameter was not added, a very common error.
With the parameter in the “off” mode, the sidebar will not look to the current page URL for the segment that will determine weblog entry, the template will just pull the last entry made instead.
Backend functionality was added so that when logged-in and surfing the site on the front end, a Super Admin, Editor, Editorial-intern, and Writer are privileged to see an “EDIT” button at the bottom of an article. By clicking the “edit” button, a new tab/window opens with the article’s “content” open and editable. Upon “quick-save” the changes are reflected on the site with a refresh.
It is a much faster way to edit the site from the front end.
Fixed a template for Letter To The People and Rock Star Death Notices index pages, new NGEN field’s image was not loading in the template due to faulty if:else statement. The old image fields were still showing up fine. But it’s all good now.
Fixed permalink bug that linked to nowhere on the Bug Tracker & Version change page. Now, the title of the entry is underlined but doesn’t link to anywhere. Bug in the Bug Tracker… Ironic, don’t you think?
Fixed a bug where “Posted: Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 10:34 PM” was without a comma as “Posted: Tuesday September 14, 2010 at 10:34 PM”. Ahh, the life of a web programmer.
Added “Show Reviews” to the automated sidebar navigation. Now, the 2 newest Live Show Reviews will have their title, reviewer name and posted date displayed and linked to it’s corresponding permalink.
Added link to “Version Number” at the top of every page that takes you to a log of version changes and updates to the Max Ink website so that the user can follow along with web bug fixes and updates.
added automated image uploader to the publish page in control panel for Clubline column
NGEN image uploading feature added to Letter/Death Notice columns. Now, editors can browse images to upload within the control panel.
changed the “This Month In Print” or “This Month” link to be an automated navigation page showing the latest posts in all major sections. Future navigation to more sections to be added as well.
Articles, Columns (Blogs), and Reviews will now link to the most recent published on the site.
Artist Names have to be filled in on all Articles Weblog entries
Installed JP Query Cycle Plugin for JS Slideshow. The first application of this slideshow is on the home page, rotating the covers.
Now, a cover can be added to the rotator with a simple entry to the Cover Images weblog.
changed all categories for writers to be alphabetized by first name for the categories selection of writers in weblog
Updated the Disc Review publish form to provide more detailed instructions for writers
Version number now changes upon updates, link to be added soon to follow Maximum Ink update blog
Fixed a bug that the NGEN images weren’t retrieving link to permalinked article
Added a caption underneath the Title in all templates for “Articles”
Added NGEN plug-in for ExpressionEngine that allows user to upload image or file within the entry during the entry submission process in control panel or SAEF. Allows Max Ink writers the ability to submit their articles through the back door and upload images at the same time.
ExpressionEngine purchased to replace Siteworks Pro as the Content Management System for the Maximum Ink website.
