On a Thursday night in Madison Wisconsin Shormey started out the fun with some intimate tunes, straight from the heart. A huge opening performance by Divino Nino followed which really set the mood for the night. But once Lila Ramani and Crumb stepped onto the stage the whole crowd became enticed by their performance. Her voice combined with the band’s ability to create a truly unique sound that has only been around for a couple of years was a fine sight to see. Before this year they only had 2 EPs released and after debuting songs from their new album “Jinx” on this tour, they have put themselves on the map as far as modern Indie Rock is concerned. For me personally, this was one of my all time favorite shows. I was so excited to see them that night. I don’t want to sound too obsessed, but there was a few moments where I forgot there was a camera in my hands… Crumb’s set was just as expected, mysterious and perfectly crafted. Lila couldn’t have sounded any closer to the studio recordings we all have been playing on repeat over the past few months. It was an honor to cover this show and capture moments that I hope emphasize what happened at the Majestic that night. I look forward to seeing what this young band can do in the future. Be sure to keep up on their sound, I know I’ll be seeing them around again hopefully very soon.
