LUNA MORTIS Post New Track Online

The southern Wisconsin quintet, LUNA MORTIS, is about to make a huge impact on the metal scene with their epic, piercing, Century Media debut full-length offering, The Absence, which runs the gamut; encompassing everything from captivating melodies, technical precision and engaging hooks. The album, produced by the acclaimed Jason Suecof (All That Remains, Trivium), is set for a Feb. 10th North American release and be sure to visit www.myspace.com/lunamortismusic now to stream the captivating new track “Never Give In.”

Mary Zimmer (vocals) further states: “Hi everyone, just an update, we’ve uploaded one new song from our upcoming album The Absence. It’s called ‘Never Give In’ and it’s definitely one of our favorites from the new disc. We hope you’ll all enjoy the new music and we can’t wait until the album is out Feb. 10th! More new things are on the way, like photos, a new layout and our 3rd studio video from our recording sessions, so keep your eyes on our MySpace page for more to come.”

LUNA MORTIS prides itself on blurring genre lines to arrive at something both beautiful and aggressive. Their ability to capture a progressive and dark sound should appeal to metalheads regardless of their sonic inclinations. Zimmer’s approach is unlike her contemporaries with an unlimited range and dynamic scope and will quickly help set the group apart from the pack.

When you’re trying to break into the international music scene from Wisconsin you’re left to claw your way up yourself, and LUNA MORTIS did exactly that with the 2006 release of their self-produced LP, Way of the Blade. As the album made its way through the local grapevine, the band had cemented enough of a regional reputation to generate label interest. They began a period of intensive demo production and showcasing, beginning with the recording of their EP, The Answer: Does Not Exist and culminating in the opportunity to cut four tracks with Jason Suecof. These efforts ultimately found LUNA MORTIS a home at Century Media amongst a literal pantheon of some of the band’s most respected and admired influences.

LUNA MORTIS Enter Audiohammer Studios; Post New Video Report Online

Friday August 15, 2008
Source: Century Media
Location: Hawthorne, California

Wisconsin based metal band LUNA MORTIS are slated to return to Audiohammer Studios, FL on Sept. 1st to finish recording their debut Century Media offering. Producer Jason Suecof (All That Remains, Trivium) will be at the helm for the record.

This will be the band’s second trip to Audiohammer this year as LUNA MORTIS spent time recording with Suecof in February of ‘08; laying down tracks originally conceived for a demo.  The tracks are unreleased with the exception of one song, “Ruin,” that has been uploaded to the band’s MySpace and will become a part of their new album. Head over to www.myspace.com/lunamortismusic now to check it out.

While at Audiohammer in February, the band documented their recording experience with a series of videos. The first of these videos has been released via YouTube, see below.

Mary Zimmer (vocals) had this to say about returning to Audiohammer: “We’re so excited to be returning to the studio to work with Jason.  He’s a phenomenal producer and we adore working with him. The songs we recorded in February that we originally wanted to release as a 4-song demo, turned out better than anything we’ve done so far in our career. We’ve decided to put them on our debut record for Century Media and we’re returning to Jason to finish the album starting September 1st.  For the demo we did in February, we did pre-production on the 4 songs with a wonderful producer named Don DeBiase who’s worked with bands like Forever in Terror and Beneath the Sky. We aren’t sure if we’ll be able to coordinate schedules with him to do pre-production on the remainder of the album, because September is right around the corner, but we are 100% confirmed to start recording with Jason on the 1st.  We did release one song from our February session for streaming only on our myspace page. It’s called ‘Ruin’ and we hope you like it. We can’t wait to finish the album and bring some more metal to you all!”

Milwaukee ‘Summer Slaughter’ Concert Filmed For DVD Release

Tuesday July 29, 2008
Source: Blabbermouth
Location: Milwaukee, WI

This past Saturday’s (July 26) Summer Slaughter tour stop at The Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was reportedly shot for future DVD release. According to the BLABBERMOUTH.NET registered user “Satan’s Scrotal Scent”, all the bands on the bill — THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, KATAKLYSM, VADER, CRYPTOPSY, THE FACELESS, DESPISED ICON, ABORTED, BORN OF OSIRIS, PSYCROPTIC, and WHITECHAPEL — “announced [from the stage] that they were filming a DVD for the tour. Cameras were all over the place (hand-helds and stationary) and you could tell each band was trying to ‘up the ante.’ The greatest thing about it was the fact that no security was there to break up any pits (as that happens at every show at The Rave). There were people getting pummeled and kicked left and right. Hardcore scenesters were punching and kicking with no avail. I saw at least four kids get dropped to the ground. Pretty entertaining stuff and should turn out to be a pretty good DVD.”
