Legendary Rock Band Motorhead Designs 2011 HEAD Ski Line

HEAD Tyrolia Winter Sports, a division of HEAD USA, Inc. has once again proven to be a pioneer and leader in the industry with the introduction of HEAD’s newest line of big mountain skis, Motörhead. Without sacrificing style or innovation, the Motörhead series combines groundbreaking technology with an edgy appeal, featuring graphics designed by the seminal metal band Motörhead.  Lemmy and his group of mountain marauders have designed what may be the coolest looking, best-skiing, big mountain skis to date.  These bad boys redefine the meaning of rocker when it comes to ski design.

The Motörhead family consists of four models varying in width from 94mm to 125mm. With a unique wooden core, the density from the tip to tail of the skis is eliminated, reducing swing weight and providing the skier with more controlled turns.  Full sidewall laminate constructions and heavy metal edges deliver the rock-solid stability that big mountain skiers crave.

Bret Michaels discusses upcoming heart surgery

Wednesday December 8, 2010
Source: Extra

“Extra caught up with Bret Michaels at the 2010 American Country Awards, where the rocker was presenting an award—and he told us that his heart surgery will be happening soon. “In January, I get my heart operation,” Michaels explained. “I’m feeling about 80% right now, but once I get that done, I’m gonna be feeling a lot better!” The singer continued, “I’m just excited to be here. My first music I listened to was country music. That’s what my dad raised me on.”

All of country music’s finest were at the ACAs, including big winner Carrie Underwood, who took home Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Female Single of the Year, Touring Headline Package of the Year and Female Music Video of the Year. Underwood swooned, “I feel awesome it’s been a great night for sure,” but admitted that she misses new hubby Mike Fisher, who couldn’t attend the event.  “My phone’s buzzing right now, bet that’s him!” Other winners included Lady Antebellum—who scored Group of the Year,  Group Video of the Year and Group Single of the Year honors, plus, Blake Shelton (for hisHillbilly Bone video), Alan Jackson (Greatest Hits Award)  and Rascal Flatts (Decade Award).

Metallica to release special recording on 11.26.10 of a fans only show at the Basement in Nashville

Wednesday October 6, 2010
Source: Warner Bros. Records
Location: Nashville, Tennessee

On November 26th, 2010 Live at Grimey’s will be released on cd and vinyl and sold exclusively though independent music retailers. On June 12th, 2008, on the eve of their headlining performance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, multi-platinum rock band Metallica played an intimate, surprise performance at The Basement, an 150-capacity venue below Nashville record store Grimey’s New & Preloved Music. In attendance were ecstatic Metclub fan club members, Grimey’s staffers, a few lucky friends, and members of local law enforcement agencies!

Now the explosive energy of that hot and sweaty, packed-to-the-rafters show has been captured on the recording Live at Grimey’s, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on the day after Thanksgiving, November 26th (known in retail circles as “Black Friday”).

Live at Grimey’s, which includes such highlights as “Welcome Home (Sanitarium),” a blistering “Master of Puppets,” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” will be released on standard CD plus as a limited-edition two-disc set on regular-weight 10” vinyl with a gatefold jacket.

In keeping with Metallica’s steadfast support of independent music retailers, Live at Grimey’s will be sold to those who support Record Store Day, an annual event on the third Saturday in April that celebrates the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the U.S. and hundreds of stores internationally. Metallica officially kicked off Record Store Day at Rasputin Music in Mountain View, CA, on April 19th, 2008. Please visit www.mymetalclub.com for a list of all participating retailers.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, Metallica have become one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands in history, having sold 105 million albums worldwide and playing to millions of fans the world over. They have scored several multi-platinum albums, including 1993’s Kill ‘Em All (3x), 1984’s Ride the Lightning (5x), 1986’s Master of Puppets (6x), 1988’s .And Justice For All (8x),  1991’s Metallica (15x), 1996’s Load (5x), 1997’s ReLoad (3x), and 2003’s St. Anger (2x). Their latest album, Death Magnetic, was certified platinum just six weeks after it debuted atop the Billboard Top 200 Album chart in October 2008. Metallica have also garnered numerous awards and accolades, including seven Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, and multiple MTV Video Music Awards, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum last year.

The track-listing for Live at Grimey’s is as follows:
No Remorse
Fuel
Harvester of Sorrow
Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Master of Puppets
Sad But True
Motorbreath
Seek and Destroy
