Letter To The People - February 2010

Valentine’s Eve Ball with VO5: February 13th brings the Maximum Ink Valentines Eve Ball to Scatz in Madison. We gonna have a seventies themed disco party with Madison’s favorite disco band, VO5. We’ll have a “costume” and dance contest with prizes from a bunch of really cool sponsors like Yahara Bay Vodka, Madcity Cocktails, Bunky’s Café, Rock The Sound, Lazy Oaf Lounge, Sybaris Spas and more! We’ll have Bud products and Yahara Bay Vodka drink specials plus a Yahara Bay free tasting at 9pm. Admission is FREE and donations will benefit WYOU TV, Madison’s public access tv channel. They’ll be there filming the event and re-broadcasting it to the gazillions of flat screens at the club.

Bradley Fish: Why did Bradley Fish move to Jerusalem? Apparently, Satan must’ve had something to do with it as Bradley has now had a few jam sessions broadcast on Fox News with republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee. As recent as February 1st, Huckabee showed up in Israel with tag-along Pat Boone (yes, that crazy R&B singer who covered classic metal bands). Mike Huckabee played bass guitar as Pat Boone sang to Bradley’s guitar. As the performance was ending, Huckabee went into a 12-bar blues line as Bradley improvised a witty song about all the famous people on the stage and the crowd went nuts. I wonder who they’ll have for a drummer next time. My guess is Dick Cheney.

Bradley will make a pilgrimage back to the United States this summer. He’ll be around for a few months and we’ll have at least one Bradley Fish’s Electrifried Band reunion. I’ll keep ya posted as I know more.

Lotus/Baghdad Scuba Review/Steez: Coming to the Majestic Theater on February 20th, is a great band called Lotus. They have some great grooves and ear friendly music with a touch of psychedelic. I received their last CD “Hammerstrike” and it didn’t stop playing around the office for some time. Local jammers Baghdad Scuba Review will open the show. Adventures with Nikolai: A few months back we put Nikolai in a karate class over at Martingilio Martial Arts. He recently tested for his yellow belt. He was a little nervous because he was so excited to get the promotion. He is a now a yellow belt. I bet this is gonna do wonders for his lightsaber skills… that’s why I decided to take a class there too…. Fillipino Stick!
