CAPITOL SQUARE SCAVENGER HUNT: We had a tie and to break it we asked a trivia question. The Care Bears team featuring Colleen, Jenny, Calli and Vanessa won the title this year. Tied for first with points but just missing the title was the team Who Dat featuring Eric Prunn and Chrissy Bocan. What a fun time, kudos to Laura Steinhoff for her work and set up for the event. I think we’re gonna set up a winter hunt!

STEEL BRIDGE SONG FESTIVAL: June 10-13, 2010 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. 3 nights and 2 days with over 150 musicians in 15 venues for this free street festival. In recent years, Steely has brought in big name players like Jackson Brown and Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go’s. The show is co-founded and hosted by pat maCdonald, of the Madison band Timbuk Three, you remember, the future’s so bright…. But the future isn’t so bright for the old steel bridge in Sturgeon Bay. The bridge is on the national register of historic places and is being threatened with destruction. Help the cause and the fun by attending, find more details by finding them on Facebook or their site at [steelbridgesongfestival.org]. Oh, and look up Charley Cheney while you’re there.

GLOBE U: Stephanie Schreuders is planning a final project for an entertainment, networking & self promotion class at Globe Univ. She writes me that the final project is an event at the High Noon Saloon in Madison on June 5th and features Roxtar from Janesville, 20 Reasons Taken from Milwaukee/Madison and Fusion from Madison. The event has a bit of a hip hop/gospelly feel. Help Steph get a good grade, I did.

ADVENTURES WITH ELIZABETH: Elizabeth just got her first official baby sitting job at a neighbor’s. She also had her first solo sleep-away from home with her friend Daphne at the annual Yonim dance camp in Mukwanago. Around midnight I got a text, “Daddy, my tummy hurts, can you come pick me up?”

In the end she just missed her family, but persevered and made it through to the end which culminated with a grand performance, in which she was awesome!

Next month: Will Nikko get his orange belt… stay tuned.
