Opiuo - SYZYGY 01

This 5 song EP has reinvigorated my love for the New Zealand born DJ, Opiuo! Offering a varied selection of his award winning electro funk styles and swampy bass beat approaches, it serves as a great launch for his summer US tour, specifically his appearance on 4/21 at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado which will feature an exclusive live performance with a 20-piece orchestral set, the Syzygy Orchestra.

Grouch in Dub - Grouch in Dub

Globe trotting New Zealand electronic producer Grouch (Oscar Allison) has tested and tried many styles and genres of music, but with Grouch in Dub he has really hit his stride. Harnessing a number of guest collaborators who inject everything from vocals, trumpet and clarinet to violin, sitar and bansuri to his psychedelic dub-tastic mixes, further accentuate his fluid approach, while also fulfilling his live performances.  A sublime offering filled with style and pizzazz.

Joe Ford - Colours in Sound

Invigorating glitch hop electronica spiced with vocal segments and compelling beats are what Colours in Sound is all about. Not afraid to drop the beat and keep the show going, this release spans a wide spectrum of styles, while maintaining a very active drum n bass base. Friendly to the ears as well as the dance floor!

Moderator - Sinner’s Syndrome

Clever storytelling samples that unhinge deeper philosophical ideas and questions, haunting musical diasporas, and psyched out retro waves are a few of the many noteworthy aspects of this excellent release from Athens, Greece producer, Moderator. Propelled as well by twangy rockabilly, spaghetti western bumps and smokey blues played over often downtempo beats, there are so many aspects and angles to be found here that it is hard to encapsulate them all.

MITIS - ‘Till The End

After MitiS’ hard drive crashed without a backup 6 months or so ago, he was forced to redo most of what would become “Till The End. Rather than be defeated, this catalyst gave him the drive and desire to create one of the most amazing EDM releases of the year to date! His resulting approach has lots of attention to details woven into a timeless tapestry of melodic electronica. Additionally, he ups that anti by adding vocalists Gioto, Adara, Tedy, Lauren Hunter, PartyNails, and PRXZM to his mixes. Bravo!

Ginkgoa - One Time

What happens when invigorating electro swing gets infused with trap, house and future bass sounds? In such a space, a myriad of tempting time tried dance crazes fly together in an explosive experiment of sound and energy. This France-based duo further enhances the mix when vocalist and front-woman Nicolle Rochelle unleashes her talents. Irresistible! Appearing 7/14 & 7/15 at LaFete De Marquette. The Glitch Mob - See Without Eyes

This Los Angeles trio of artists, Boreta, edIT, and Ooah have produced seminal elements of the electronic sonic experience since their beginnings in 2006. It has been 4 years since their last acclaimed release (their 2nd LP, Love Death Immortality, debuted #13 on Billboard 200 album chart and No. 1 on iTunes electronic chart). Driven now by their own label, Glass Air, their sound remains recognizable, but with a fair amount of experimental elements among their signature punctual electro synths and swollen bass lines. Showing off several great collaborators, including REZZ, Illenium, and Tula, the release has many facets to explore. I am excited to see them at The Sylvee in Madison, WI on 10/10!

Melvins - Pinkus Abortion Technician

Formed in Aberdeen/Montesano, WA in 1983, the Melvins have been spewing weirdo wisdom and sludgy psychedelic shenanigans ever since. Featuring both Steven McDonald (Redd Kross, OFF!) and Butthole Surfers’, Jeff Pinkus on bass this time around brings new elements to the surface. Pinkus Abortion Technician is a solid foray into the twisted minds and rhythms of this ongoing phenomena. Come see the King Buzzo crew with me on 7/30 at High Noon Saloon in Madison, WI. Brownout - Fear of a Brown Planet

After two awesome retooled Black Sabbath themed releases, this 9-piece award winning Austin, TX offshoot of Grupo Fantasma, brings us a heavy Latin funk and soul tapestry of blazing grooves and horn filled rhythms in this play on Public Enemy’s 1990 hip-hop classic Fear of a Black Planet. Woot!

Pogo - Ascend

Our social media filled lives are filled with snippets and samples, but few utilize them the way that Pogo (aka Nick Bertke) does. His work is highly sought after and viewed (well over 100 million views on YouTube). Ascend continues his legacy with 14 tracks of catchy, kitschy, creative creations that expound upon his already amazing vision.

The Sword - Used Future

What began as groovy galloping guitar driven stoner rock has taken nods towards classic heavy rock and added bluesy brambles to their vintage mileage as this Austin, TX band rides across endless highways headed towards often psychedelic horizons with a used future destination.
