AtYyA - Aurical

Viscous rhythms bubble to the surface next to interstellar clips and catches while alien cascades of rhythmic simplicity are buoyed about by dreamy distractions, throbbing bass and other energetic quandaries on this brief yet beautiful electronic escapade from AtYya (pronounced “Ah-Tye-Ah”). Blockhead - Uncle Tony’s Coloring Book

Staying within the lines are the challenge and reward with any coloring book and therein lies the fun with this audio version. Here the space between the lines is filled with funky hip hop rhythms colored over smooth and flowing electronics. The soulful vocal samples and snippets are then accented with scribbles, burbles and quirks which ultimately makes for an entertaining ride across many song pages.

Red Rose - No Place Like Now

Acts that sample instruments live then layer, sequence and assemble them into multifaceted multilayered creations are always intriguing to experience. This Madison duo compliments their synthetics with live looping from bass, guitar and drums, thus infusing analog instruments into the digital realm. The results are smooth and flowing psychedelic space jams crossed with dance friendly trip hop tantilizations amidst great ambient swells found in this delightful fusion of genres.

Desert Dwellers - Great Mystery

Such a beautiful blending of the etheric and the electronic. This busy duo has traveled the world learning about the great mystery, only to gift their knowledge to listeners amid their downtempo dubtronica. Blissful beams of gratitude glide their music to new frontiers and even greater mysteries.

Dub Kirtan All Stars - Bhakti Juggernaut

What began as a one off performance instigated by David Starfire and FreQ Nasty (Darin McFadyen) in a Buddhist temple in Los Angeles has taken flight and blossomed into this full on Bhakti Juggernaut! Melding sacred Sanskrit chants and mantras into drum n bass electronica sprinkled with conscious hip hop lyrics and a host of guest musicians sets the stage for this inspirational uprising of the highest order.
