Andrew Frey brings his extensive knowledge of the "heavier" musical genres and mixes it with colorful parsecs of World Beat, Jam, Techno, Funk, Blues and wild experimentation for a column filled with Micro Reviews, show reviews and the occasional rant called Eclectic Vibes.

Andrew's music writing career started in the late 80's when he was involved with two music newspapers while living in the Denver, Colorado area; CLOT Magazine and Colorado Music Magazine.

Upon relocating to Madison, Wisconsin in 1994, Andrew’s musical experience continued shortly thereafter when he opened a music, gift and novelty store in Stoughton called Elves Palace which garnered legendary status during its 11 year run.

Andrew’s history with Maximum Ink goes back to the year 2000.
