Founded by Local home brewers on October 17, 1997, the Milwaukee Ale House serves up fresh music, live beer and great food to the good people of Wisconsin and travelers from all over the world. Located in a brick and timber warehouse building downtown in the Historic Third Ward, we offer indoor and outdoor dining, six or more hand crafted beers, lunch and dinner everyday with late night food on the weekends.
Our seating on the Milwaukee River overlooks downtown and our 6 public boat slips create an atmosphere that offers our diners a unique connection to the roots of the city that made beer famous! Schooners used to dock in front of our building to get fitted with new sails before heading back out to Lake Michigan.

From Downtown Milwaukee:
Take Water Street south past interstate I-794 into the 3rd Ward. Ale House is two blocks south of St. Paul St. on the west side of Water Street.
From the north:
Take I-43 south to McKinley Exit. Go east on McKinley, over the Milwaukee River and take a right on Water St. Travel south on Water St., passing under I-794. Ale House is two blocks past St. Paul Street on the west side of Water Street.
From the west:
Take I-94 East and exit at the 13th Street exit. Go east on St. Paul to Water Street. Take right On Water Street. Ale House is two blocks south of St. Paul St. on the west side of Water Street.
From the south:
Take I-43/I-94 north to the Walker Street Exit. Turn right, going north on Walker-one block to National Ave. Take a right on National Ave. and travel east 8 blocks to 1st Street. Take a left on 1st Street and travel north 7 blocks. 1st Turns into Water St. at the Milwaukee River. The Ale House is one block north on the west side of Water St.
Parking for the Ale House is in the Parking Structure on the corner of
Chicago St. and Water St. (Chicago St. Entrance) and the surface lot located on the corner of Water St. and St. Paul (St. Paul Entrance). Boat Docking is available on a first come first serve basis on the Milwaukee River next to the Milwaukee Ale House.
