Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The disease was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, the capital of China’s Hubei province, and has since spread globally, resulting in the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic.

Helen Elizabeth Jones Woods - D. 7-25-2020 - 96 - Covid-19 - jazz and swing trombone player with the International Sweethearts of Rhythm - Omaha Black Music Hall of Fame inductee.

Dobby Dobbson (Highland Ralph Dobson OD) - D. 7-21-2020 - 78 - Covid-19 - Jamaican reggae singer and record producer.

Ciro Pessoa Mendes Corrêa - D. 5-5-2020 - 62 - Covid-19 - also known by his Dharma name Tenzin Chöpel - Brazilian singer-songwriter, lyricist, guitarist, screenwriter, journalist, writer and poet - famous for being one of the founding members of the influential rock band Titãs and for his later work with pioneering post-punk/gothic rock band Cabine C. He also formed numerous other short-lived and lesser known projects in the mid-1980s/1990s before beginning a solo career in 2003.

David Paul Greenfield - D. 5-3-2020 - 71 - Covid-19 - English keyboardist, singer and songwriter of The Stranglers.

Óscar Chávez - D. 4-30-2020 - 85 - Covid-19 - Mexican singer, songwriter and actor - major proponent of the Nueva Trova movement in Mexico in the 1960s and 1970s.

David S. Boe -  D. 4-28-2020 - 84 - Covid-19 - organist and head of the organ department of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he taught from 1962 to 2008 - most notable for his work as a pedagogue, having trained a large number of organists during his time at Oberlin.

Alan Abel - D. 4-25-2020 - 91 - Covid-19 - American percussionist, music educator, and inventor of musical instruments - Associate Principal Percussionist of the Philadelphia Orchestra from 1959 until his retirement in 1997.

Enrique Castellón Vargas - D. 4-22-2020 - 88 - Covid-19 - El Príncipe Gitano (“The Gypsy Prince”) was a Spanish flamenco singer, actor and dancer.

Jacques Pellen - D. 4-21-2020 - 63 - Covid-19 - France - French jazz guitarist.

Arlene Saunders - D. 4-17-2020 - 89 - Covid-19 - Cleveland - American spinto soprano opera singer - after making her operatic debut as Rosalinde von Eisenstein, in Die Fledermaus, with the National Opera Company in 1958, she made her first appearance with the New York City Opera in 1961, as Giorgetta in Il tabarro.

Giuseppi Logan - D. 4-17-2020 - 84 - Covid-19 - NYC - was a jazz musician, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who taught himself to play piano and drums before switching to reeds at the age of 12. At the age of 15 he began playing with Earl Bostic and later studied at the New England Conservatory.
