SLIPKNOT

Iowa
Roadrunner Recordings

Exploding onto the scene two years ago and upping the ante for every other band in their genre, the music world could only wonder if Slipknot would be able to improve upon their groundbreaking debut album.  To say the least, they succeeded.

The nine members of Slipknot combine their respective talents in an unrelenting assault that is exceptionally complex.  Taking a percussion foundation with an unmatched intensity and piling on everything else provides the throbbing backdrop necessary to the commanding lyrical surface.

Slipknot are angry, that's a given.  However, their lyrics and attitudes aren't brutally dismissive of society to sell records or appeal to their target demographic; they're just telling it like they see it.  Consequently, their refusal to cater to the masses has resulted in an extensive and well-deserved army of devoted supporters.

If you like it heavy and unmerciful, you'll like "Iowa."  If not, they could care less.
