THE RED

Let's Not And Say We Did

This eclectic duo out of Los Angeles is so musically unpredictable and diverse, it's impossible to label. Their debut CD "Let's Not And Say We Did", an entirely acoustic project, combines jazz, folk, blues, funk and coffee house rock. The track entitled "The New York City Snowflake Song" sounds almost like a new-age Simon And Garfunkel, while "Be In L.A." could be very easily mistaken for a Fishbone classic. Consisting of only a guitar and a bass, The Red's Aiello and Langhaar produce a full, satisfying sound that somehow perpetuates the CD to literally play itself over and over again. For the past two years, the pair have played the Southern California region, performing songs written from the first person perspective, but actually telling a story of fictitious characters ranging from a homesick entertainer to a lounge lizard. This debut CD by The Red offers a refreshing change of pace in this age of bland, acoustic remakes.
