KRISTIN HERSH
Sunny Border Blue
4AD/Beggar's Banquet Records

Mixing her lean acoustic solo ventures and the pounding catharsis of her rock band The Throwing Muses, strange angel Kristin Hersh has produce her most powerful recording of life battered rebuttals since she started her rock 'n roll life as an early teen.  The sublime and refined new, "Sunny Border Blue," combines haunting pleads and hushed revelations with snakey electric guitar and multi-tracked pop treats. As Kristin's portrayals and denials burst with pirouetting frustration, dervish inspired rampages partner with knowing smirks over life's bitter ironies and language's ambiguous messages. With Kristin overseeing both production duties and playing all but a few instruments on one or two tracks, "Sunny," cooks up a rotisserie of intimate confessions ranging from insistent resilience to anthems of heartbreak and outrage.
