In his previous incarnations, Joe Goldring worked with the Swans, Toiling Midgets and Hope Sandoval.  For his debut solo disc, Joe has produced a limited pressing of 500 copies and called it, "Captain Onboard." An extraordinary collage of ordinary incidents amplified, viscous ruminations reversed and sonic swamps irrigated, "Captain," juxtaposes eerie silences with familiar sounds to whip up a sublime hallucinogenic pudding.  Its jarringly hypnotic ambiance of manufactured accidents concocts a sense of doom that suggests the last rites of a psychedelic breakdown. Emerging from it's thirty-three minute exodus cleansed and teleported, "Captain," is obviously not for everyone, but for those interested in haunted loops and oblique improvisations, alternative thinking and paranormal perception, there is no better example than the insightful penetrations of, "Captain Onboard."
