SYSTEM & STATION

Pictures Found In Paragraphs

Leaving this August for Portland OR, the trippy and tricky trio from Idaho kept house these past three years in Madison WI.  Here, arguably, they matured to conceive the opus of marginalia, that is, "Pictures Found in Paragraphs." Original yet familiar, "Pictures," waltzes whirlwinds of pop-punk guitar strings like indie-emo pirouettes massaged by itchy trigger fingers. System's collision of electrified metal and wood squeezes a palatable tension over a talented capacity for shifting gears and earthbound authenticity.  Whether stomping out inner demons or storming against a common woe, this gallery of songs in hopeless descent proves parenthetical and brilliant.  Bombarding the ear with glorious paradox, System's innovative nostalgia brands "Pictures," as both historic and revolutionary. Go west men and conquer, but come back anytime.
