BORDO POND
Dilate
Matador Records
www.threelobed.com/bardo/bardo.htm

If indeed that one pill Alice took made her larger and the other made her smaller, most likely her dealers were one of the members of Bardo Pond. Their new album "Dilate" has them expanding into much more of an erratic territory, which makes their sound druggier and more moody. So atmospheric that it makes Kate Bush's music sound like songs from Barney the purple dinosaur show, "Dilate" reveals to us that too much intake of hallucinogenic drugs can actually led the artist to making sounds that are too volatile, cathartic and intense for one's mind. After all, this album may be one of the reasons why our nation's drug rate is steadily increasing, due to the number of subliminal messages that are in those hypnotic vocal pipes. If the whole music business doesn't work out for these guys, don't be surprise to find them composing soundtrack scores for experimental films. Note: There are no actual subliminal messages in this album what-so-ever!
