STAIND
Break The Cycle
Elektra Records

Staind's latest effort, Break the Cycle, is a breath of fresh air for those who were worried that rock music, at least good rock music, was on its way out the door.

Lyrically driven, it is the deep meaning and thought woven throughout the record that sets it apart from many of the other bands today.  While the album still holds a great deal of personal torment, fans find comfort in frontman Aaron Lewis's words in that he seems to be seeing a flicker of hope in the midst of his angst, something that is often absent in the world of rock.  It is easy to relate to some one as honest as Lewis, and that fact is simply addicting in the case of this album.

Break the Cycle is refreshing, well-rounded, and truly phenomenal.  In a world where good looks and clever marketing appear to be the keys to musical success, Staind reminds us that it really is just about great music.
